In these few chapters, we have learnt various principles of mechanics such as equations of motion, force, energy and momentum, etc. In the following activity, we are going to use these physics concepts to understand a real-life issue: road safety in Hong Kong. You might have seen news about traffic accidents on television and newspapers. The Hong Kong Government has put a great effort to improve traffic safety. The "crash cushion system" that you can find on many roads in Hong Kong serves as a good example to illustrate how physics principles can help us to save lives in traffic accidents.
