What kind of web site is Physics World? What does it aim at?
Physics World is a web site dedicated to physics education in Hong Kong. It is owned by the Education Department, HKSAR, and it is developed by the Department of Physics at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. It aims at providing teachers with various kinds of IT teaching resources, news of education activities and seminars. Through the online discussion forum, teachers are encouraged to share their teaching resources and experience, so that they will be better prepared for the forthcoming education reform. Users are invited to browse the section "Introduction" of the web site for more information.
How can I download the materials in the Teachers' zone and join the Discussion forum?
First of all, you must apply for a membership in order to get a username and a password, which are required to access the restricted documents and to post messages in the Discussion forum.
How can I become a member of Physics World?
Any secondary school physics teacher in Hong Kong can become a member of Physics World. Two identical briefing sessions will be held on 20 and 21 October 2000 to introduce the major features of the website, and the application for membership. Please also visit the membership drive in the Teachers' zone for an application form and the details of the application procedure.
